One of the first Garndu and Cunmuddi pieces I did and still one of my favourites.
Made entirely from native bush timbers that we collected around the Katherine Region, the piece tells a story of when the great hunter Garndu and the evil serpent Cunmuddi met one day at a local waterhole.
A fierce fight erupted; both Garndu and Cunmuddi were injured. Garndu speared Cunmuddi through the body with his sacred spear but it never killed the Cunmuddi. He just slid off into the depths of the water to let his wound heal so he could seek revenge on Garndu or one of his tribal members.
