Business History

The application to register Barlib Aboriginal Arts and Craft as a business was lodged on the 30th of December 2003 in Darwin, Northern Territory.
It then commenced as a registered business on the 7th of January 2004.

We established the business for a number of reasons but primarily to:

  •  Create a family orientated business using the artistic skills of our immediate family members.
  • Provide awareness  of the Australian Indigenous culture to everyone.
  •  To promote, market and sell the products that we make directly to potential buyers ourselves.
  •  To  have ownership of everything we do.

We also provide potential buyers with opportunities such as:

  • Answering questions and queries in relation to our services and products.
  • On request provide information on how the piece was created.
  • Explain why the piece was created.
  • Different materials used to produce the piece.
  • What stories are related to particular items.
  • Any cultural significance an item may have.
  • Providing personally signed authenticities by the artist, on request for selected items.

Genuine, quality items, reasonable prices and customer satisfaction are key factors of our business.
